Dear Greggs,

20 Mar

Prague makes bread on a stick! While we were walking around the outdoor market I found about 8 different stands that sell hot bread on a stick and it tasted wonderful. It made me feel at home. They call it Pikle.

I’m glad to hear you had bread on a stick! How funny!

Today was Share Fest Day in the Tri-Cities. My volunteer work consisted of ripping worn-out elastic from Benton County Jail inmates pants! There are rows of stitching, lots of surging stitching and it takes forever to get the 4-5 rows of stitches ripped out! It was fun and those of us doing this job sat in a circle and did lots of visiting. Lots of ladies there with their own sewing machines and they were sewing new elastic into all these jail striped pants. Talk about recycling! The ones that were no longer worth sewing in new elastic into the waist bands, they wanted cut into 12 inch squares, and hemmed and they would take them back to use for rags!

When finished and my way out to the car I said hi and visited a bit with Connie Urness and Tanya Patton. They had been out volunteering cleaning up Columbia Park and said your dad was part of that crew!
