Christmas Card Design

Today I wanted to share the Christmas card I designed for my sister.  She really wanted me to design their card so we got a major head start, and designed it before Ruby got here.  She wanted to incorporate an update on her and her husband’s life so we made a top six list on the back.

holly christmas '14_2Holly always give me free reign on the design so I decided to keep it modern and stay away from the traditional Christmas card look.  I am really happy with how it turned out. I had so much fun designing this and wish I would have had time to do more!

White Christmas 2Can you believe it is already holiday card season again?!  Time is just flying by!  Today I added a few printable holiday cards back into my Etsy Shop.  I just added a few of my favorites from past years but I hope to design some new ones as well!

The above Christmas card is one of my favorites from a few years back.  It isn’t very traditional but I just love the modern lines and color!  If you would like to visit my shop you can click here.

White Christmas Card Highlight

Good morning!  Today I wanted to highlight another Christmas card design I have for sale.  This design is new to my collection, and I am very excited about it!  For this design I wanted to mix a retro style with my favorite modern simplicity.  I also wanted to have the design incorporate all white elements except one small pop of color.

You can check out the rest of my collection at my Etsy store or on my Christmas Card page.  Have a great Tuesday!

New Christmas Card Design

14 Nov

Hi friends!  It is time to highlight another Christmas card design on the blog.  This design is new to my collection.  Joy to the World is a product of an earlier card that I designed (Box + Love) with a really fun twist.  I love how the text looks when it is only partially behind the image.  So simple and modern – two of my favorite things!  What do you think?

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank You Cards

5 Nov

Good morning!  How was your weekend?  Jonathan and I spent the weekend in Newport, Oregon with all of his family.  We rented a house and stayed close to the beach.  It was so fun to spend time with family and explore the coast.  We ate at so many good restaurants where fresh seafood was always served!  So yummy!  We also went to the aquarium where all my cute nieces and nephews went crazy over all the sea animals.  Who am I kidding, I went crazy over them too!  The sea otter is just sooo cute.

Today I am so excited to show you the fun thank you cards I designed for my sister (ps. isn’t this picture by Ben Blood perfection?!).  We decided to take one of the Christmas card designs and adapt it to a thank you card.  I am so happy with how they turned out so I wanted you to get to see them too.  This also helps to show that you can take any design and adapt the colors and wording to your own style.  Enjoy!

Happy Monday!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello Monday!

29 Oct

Good morning friends!  How was your weekend?  Our weekend was a pretty rainy, but it was also fabulous.  I finished all my drawing projects which feels good!  And we had a great time celebrating Fall and watching movies.  We went to see Cloud Atlas (staring Tom Hanks!) on Friday.  Have you seen it?  If so, what did you think?

Every once in awhile, from now until Christmas, I thought I would highlight different Christmas cards from my collection for you to see.  I thought it would be fun to explain my thoughts behind the designs and also show you how other people decided to use my cards to make them their own.  Today I am going to start with my Rustic card design.  This card is quite different from all the other designs, but I like how it is unique.  Lately, I have been drawn to modern design and for this specific card, I liked how it combined modern with wilderness.

Christmas Project Released!

22 Oct

Good morning friends!  I am so excited because today is the day I finally get to release to you the Christmas Project I have been working on!  For the past month I have been working hard designing some Christmas cards for you.  Awhile back I had received some requests from clients and family to design their Christmas cards so I thought it would be fun to open them up to you as well.  I have had a lot of fun working on these designs and the styles I chose are a fun alternative to the traditional Christmas card.

To view my entire collection, you can click the Christmas Card link at the top right of my blog or click here.  There you will find all my designs as well as pricing and ordering information.  You can also purchase my Christmas cards on Etsy here.

Below, I have highlighted a few of the designs you will find from my collection.  Enjoy!
